Special Important Note concerning use of the former Adult ESOL Curriculum Checklists:

Effective October 11, 2004, Florida's former Adult ESOL Curriculum Checklists can no longer be used to report or attain Literacy Completion Points (LCPs) in Adult ESOL Levels Foundations through Advanced.  Adult ESOL students in these levels must demonstrate progress through standardized assessment instruments CASAS, BEST, or BEST Plus.  Neither TABE nor ESLOA can be used as standardized assessment instruments to determine student gains and claim LCPs as of January, 2005.

For Adult ESOL students in Citizenship, Workplace Readiness Literacy Levels A, B and C, and Adult ESOL Academic Skills, the former Curriculum Checklists, now termed Curriculum Progress Reports (see below) along with supporting student work can still be used to determine LCPs.

For Adult ESOL Students in Adult ESOL Levels Foundations through Advanced Standardized Student Syllabi (see below) should be used by all teachers to assist with guiding instructional choices of materials and topics which will ensure that Adult ESOL learners master the skills to not only become productive members of our local economy, but to attain gains on the standardized assessments which will demonstrate this skills attainment.
